Roy Hodgson replaces De Boer as Crystal Palace coach
Roy Hodgson, a former England coach, has been named as Crystal Palace’s new manager on a two-year deal.
The 70-year-old, who has been out of management since resigning as England boss in 2016, replaces Frank de Boer, who was sacked on Monday after 77 days and five matches in charge.
The Eagles were defeated 1-0 by Burnley on Sunday – having already lost to Liverpool, Swansea City and Huddersfield – to become the first English side to earn such losing streak record in 93 years.
He has previously managed Blackburn, Fulham, Liverpool and West Brom in the Premier League.
Palace’s next game is at Selhurst Park where they face Southampton in their fifth Premier League match on Saturday.
