CLEARED BY FIFA: Ola Aina set to make Super Eagles debut

The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) have cleared Hull City defender, Ola Aina, to play for Nigeria, an NFF source has disclosed.
Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, had said that steps to secure clearance for Aina was almost completed as all papers needed had been submitted and that clearance by FIFA was expected early on Friday.
Speaking after the 4-0 thrashing of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon by the Super Eagles in Friday’s World Cup qualifier, the source told Complete Sport:
“It’s a double celebration for us. Aina’s clearance has come through from FIFA, and he could feature for Nigeria in Yaounde.”
The 20-year old, who was also invited by Rohr for the World Cup qualifying battles against Cameroon, will now be eligible for selection in the Eagles’ next outing.
“It was a very proud moment to get called-up by Nigeria and the prospect of representing my country for the first time is very exciting,” Aina said after getting an invitation.
“Everyone wants to play at the highest level and that’s what international level is. For me, it’s very exciting and I want to do really well.”
Nigeria, now on 9 points at the top of Group B, will travel to play Cameroon again in Yaounde on Monday.
